Pearly Whites Express Whitening Pen Review
Pearly Whites Express Whitening Pen Review
Pearly Whites has a compact whitening pen in their product range. With a sleek and stylish appearance, it is both, fashionable and convenient.
We check out Pearly Whites Express Whitening Pen thoroughly and see if it’s a good option to use.
Pearly Whites is a recognisable teeth whitening brand. Pearly Whites state they were “voted Australia’s most popular at-home teeth whitening brand”.
Their teeth whitening pen, as they describe it, is fast, effective and portable. I like the sound of that!
If you are not sure precisely what a whitening pen is, I’ll quickly explain.
It is merely whitening gel that you would find in a whitening kit put inside a device that resembles a pen.
Helpful to maintain your white smile, it also has the potential to remove some surface stains and general discolouration around your teeth.
However, if you are wanting a much whiter smile there are other options available which produce better results.
Let’s see what you get inside and how this pen works, plus some instructions Pearly Whites give us.
Packaging and What’s Inside
And as you expect is a very compact whitening option.
The packaging is simple but elegant with a clean and matte-finished packaging.
The teeth white whitening pen sits comfortably inside and is pretty well protected.
It’s got some information on the outside of the pack, as you’d expect, and it doesn’t come with any pamphlet inside, but not many teeth whitening pens do.
If we look inside, it comes in a silver capsule. This seems to be the typical way of supplying these whitening pens.
Another brand that uses the stylish silver pen case is Bondi Smile’s Whitening Pen.
There’s not too much variance when looking at teeth whitening pens in general, most seem to come in this silver reflective capsule.
Branding is noticeable on the outside of the pen, Pearly Whites Australia is seen on it.
Instructions for Use
All directions and information about the product are stipulated on the outside of the box.
There are 5 instruction steps that you need to be aware of before using this whitening pen.
- The first one is to brush your teeth
- Rotate the whitening pen at the base to dispense the gel and hold a wide smile to keep lips away from teeth during treatment.
- Apply a thin layer of gel to the surface of the teeth.
- Let the gel dry for 10 minutes and then rinse mouth.
- Refrain from eating or drinking for 30 minutes after application.
The thing I love about whitening pens is they are super simple to use and store.
The instructions on the packaging are perfect and spot on!
How to Use the Pearly Whites Pen
If you are holding it with the writing looking at you. You just go to the left-hand side of the pen and you remove the lid, and you will see the brush and the liquid inside.
The lid is connected firmly to the capsule and is very secure. It won’t come off unless you actually tug it and pull it off.
When you are ready to use, rotate the pen at the base (the other side to the lid) a little bit.
The whitening gel will be pushed internally by this action, up within the capsule to the brush head.
At this point, you are ready to apply the whitening gel via the brush to each tooth as instructed on the packaging.
Keeping your mouth and lips open for 10 minutes is harder than it looks! It really is the only issue and frustration with using this method of whitening.
Pearly Whites recommend applying the whitening gel twice per day for up to five days.
To maintain the results, apply once or twice a week or as required. So it’s pretty good.
It definitely is a much more convenient way of whitening your teeth than other options out there.
However, I would say it’s more to sustain or maintain a reasonably whiter smile.
Ingredients Used in the Pen
Pearly Whites uses the following 8 ingredients which help whiten your teeth.
- 18 Carbamide Peroxide
- Propylene Glycol
- Deionized water
- Ethylene Diamine Tetraacetic acid
- Polyvinyl Pyrroudone
Price and Value
Usually, the Pearly Whites whitening Pen retails at $39.00 making it one of the most expensive pens on the Australian market.
However, at the time of writing this review, we can confirm they have a sale on which brings the price down to $19.95. Nearly 50% off!
At this price, I think it really is great value for money and more inline with the other pens available.
Pearly Whites also offer free shipping within Australia and only $14.95 to our friends across the Tasman.
Below are some of the points about the pen that Pearly Whites wants people to know when choosing their pen.
The Pearly Whites Whitening Pen is a very straightforward and easy product to use.
The only disadvantage I feel with Pens, in general, is holding your mouth and lips open for 10mins. It can be uncomfortable and salvia can build up quickly.
But saying that it is much quicker than a lot of other whitening products on the market, and it is a pretty good way to maintain a shade of white.
So if you are working or travelling, or even just going about your daily activities and want something that is convenient, compact, fast and efficient, then a Pearly Whites teeth whitening pen is definitely a good option to consider.
